This Butterfly Cremation Monument is produced in our workshop from selected Aurora Granite. The main butterfly sculpture is cut and carved from a solid stone block, with the butterfly formed as an integral part of the granite rather than assembled from separate decorative pieces. The wing surfaces, central body and lower rounded sections are shaped directly from the stone, creating a continuous sculptural form throughout the monument. Every visible carved element is finished by hand, allowing the craftsman to control the wing contours, edge transitions, relief depth and surface smoothness individually. The natural reddish-brown and dark mineral pattern of Aurora Granite remains visible across the carved and polished surfaces, giving the Cremation Monument a consistent stone appearance without introducing additional materials into the sculpture.
Our factory can modify the butterfly profile, wing proportions, overall monument height, inscription area, base dimensions and stone thickness according to customer drawings, dimensions or reference photographs. The design can also be adapted for different cremation headstone and cremation tombstone layouts, depending on cemetery requirements and the required inscription arrangement. FOC CAD shop drawings can be prepared before production so the overall proportions, carving layout, component dimensions and fixing details can be reviewed and confirmed in advance. Once approved, the same drawing is used as the production reference for stone cutting, hand carving, polishing and final inspection.

Aurora Granite

Why choose Aurora Granite
Aurora Granite is a natural granite characterized by a dark grey to black background with distinctive blue-grey, silver and lighter mineral patterns. Its natural mineral movement creates subtle variation across the surface, giving the stone depth and a refined appearance.
The stone has a dense and durable structure, making it suitable for outdoor memorial applications where resistance to weathering and everyday environmental exposure is important. When polished, Aurora Granite develops a smooth surface that enhances the contrast between its dark background and lighter mineral patterns.
Craftsmanship Inspection & Quality Standards
- Block Selection: Aurora Granite blocks are visually inspected before cutting for surface fissures, mineral discontinuities, unsuitable inclusions and structural defects that could affect the butterfly's narrow wing sections or curved lower forms.
- Solid-Block Rough Shaping: The butterfly profile is transferred from the approved production drawing to the selected block. Initial cutting removes excess stone while retaining sufficient material around thin or curved areas for later hand carving.
- Hand Carving: After rough shaping, stone craftsmen refine the wing tips, body junction, curved lower sections and profile transitions manually. This stage controls the depth and continuity of the carved forms rather than relying only on machine cutting.
- Surface Finishing: The carved surfaces are progressively finished before final polishing. Particular attention is given to scratches, uneven polishing, edge marks and visible transitions between the carved areas and surrounding surface.
- Dimensional Inspection: The completed sculpture and base are checked against the approved CAD drawing. Key measurements include overall height, width, thickness, base dimensions, fixing positions and alignment between components.
- Pre-Shipment Inspection: The monument is cleaned, visually inspected and photographed before export packing. Where the sculpture and base are supplied as separate components, a dry positioning check can be performed before crating.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the butterfly carved from one piece of Aurora Granite?
Yes. The main butterfly sculpture is cut and carved from a single solid block of Aurora Granite. This allows the wing profile, central body and lower curved sections to remain part of one continuous stone structure, reducing visible assembly joints across the sculpted butterfly form during production.
Can the butterfly shape be customized for a cremation memorial?
Yes. The butterfly proportions, overall height, wing width, body profile and granite base can be modified from customer drawings or reference images. We can also add inscription panels, name-and-date areas, fixing points or an urn-related base configuration after the cremation memorial layout is confirmed.
Can you provide CAD drawings before producing the cremation tombstone?
Yes. We provide FOC CAD shop drawings for production confirmation. The drawing can show overall dimensions, butterfly profile, base dimensions, stone thickness, fixing positions and inscription areas. Production starts after the customer approves the final drawing, allowing the carving work to follow one confirmed dimensional reference.
Can Aurora Granite be used for an outdoor Butterfly Cremation Monument?
Yes. Aurora Granite is used for exterior memorial applications because of its hard stone structure and resistance to normal outdoor exposure.
Our clients' handling choices in transportation:
1) Air Freight
Pros: Short transit time, suitable for urgent orders.
Cons: Goods need to be collected directly from the destination airport.
2) Sea Freight (Ocean Shipping)
Pros: More cost-effective compared with air freight, especially for heavy stone products.
Cons: Longer transportation time.
Production and packing

Our manufacturing site spans more than 5,000 square meters, giving us the space and capability to handle all stages of production in-house-from raw block cutting to the final touches of intricate craftsmanship. Backed by a skilled workforce of approximately 60 professionals, we are committed to consistent quality and reliable lead times.
Equipped with a wide array of modern machinery-including block saws, infrared bridge cutters, automated grinding systems, and precision hand tools-we're able to achieve both efficiency and artistry in every monument we create. This blend of technology and experience allows us to deliver memorials that are both long-lasting and thoughtfully designed.
In order to prevent any potential damage during transportation, we carefully pack each product and add sufficient protective materials. The inside is soft foam packaging material, the outside is a wooden box, and the plastic film is waterproof.
