Marble maintenance

Jun 18, 2023

Marble is prone to staining, so it should be cleaned with minimal water. Regularly wipe with a slightly damp cloth with a mild detergent, and then dry and polish with a clean soft cloth to restore its luster. Alternatively, carefully wipe with a liquid detergent, using lemon juice or vinegar to clean the stains. However, it is recommended that the lemon stay on top for no more than 2 minutes. If necessary, repeat the operation, then clean and dry. For minor scratches, specialized marble polishing powder and care agents can be used. For antique or valuable marble furniture, professional personnel should be invited to handle it.
This maintenance method uses a stone recrystallization system, which has two parts: one refers to the mechanical tool part and the other refers to some specialized chemical materials; Chemical materials are also divided into two categories: one is granite recrystallization system, and the other is marble recrystallization system. Its basic principle is to combine some chemical specialized materials under mechanical action with the heat generated during friction to form a combination and micro rheological reaction with the structure and organization of the stone surface, resulting in a new hard and shiny blend crystal layer. Using these stone recrystallization systems to maintain granite and marble floors can achieve a bright, fresh, and natural effect on the stone floor. For marble, it can also improve its surface wear resistance. Keep its luster more long-lasting. Generally, granite flooring should undergo this maintenance every two years. However, due to differences in texture, marble floors usually require such maintenance every two months, but the specific time depends on the degree of wear on the marble surface.
1. Marble is very fragile and afraid of being hit or knocked by hard objects. Therefore, attention should be paid to preventing heavy objects such as iron from hitting the stone surface in order to avoid dents and affecting its aesthetics. Marble and granite are easier to clean and maintain, and simple surface cleaning with some cleaning agents during leisure time can ensure their long-lasting freshness.
2. Regularly wipe the countertop with a slightly damp cloth with a mild detergent, then dry and polish it with a clean soft cloth. When the surface is dirty, it is advisable to use some lighter corrosive agents such as lemon juice or vinegar to clean the stains. Do not use materials such as soap or soda powder that may damage the essence of marble to wipe. Lemon juice should also be used with great care, and its retention time should preferably not exceed 1 minute. If necessary, the operation can be repeated, then cleaned and dried. For cosmetics, tea, and tobacco stains, hydrogen peroxide can be applied, left for two hours, and then cleaned and dried. For oil stains, ethanol (alcohol), acetone (wood essence), or lighter oil can be used to wipe, then cleaned and dried. If marble furniture is burnt by cigarette butts, it should be considered to have someone repair it.
3. For marble furniture with slight scratches, specialized marble cleaners and care agents can be used; The seriously worn marble furniture is difficult to deal with. It can be wiped with Steel wool, and then polished with an electric polishing machine to restore its original luster. For antique or valuable marble furniture, professional personnel should be invited to handle it.
4. Painted marble furniture must be treated with a paint layer remover and follow the product instructions. After removing all the paint, wipe it with Steel wool and polish it with an electric polishing machine.
Daily maintenance
1-2 times a week, spray a small amount of crystal maintenance agent or crystal hard powder (crystal hard powder needs to be added with water, depending on humidity. When the weather is dry, the amount of water should be more.) 1-2 grams per square meter.
Apply evenly with a stone care machine, then grind until shiny. Finally, use a dust push to clean the dust on the ground. Spray grinding should be carried out in sections of 1-2 square meters per section. The cleaning pad should be kept clean, as excessive powder can affect its effectiveness; If dirt is found, use the other side in reverse until both sides are stained and replace with a new one. Depending on the working area, bring sufficient cleaning pads with you. Those that are contaminated should be washed and dried before use.
On a smooth dark ground, the cleaning pad can be replaced with a steel wire pad for better results. However, it should be noted that uneven ground or dirt on the steel wire pad can make the ground black.
matters needing attention
1. The stone surface should be dry and smooth, and after renovation, use animal hair pads or nano wool pads as much as possible to dry the ground to a temperature of about 50 degrees before applying crystal surface treatment.
2. Use clean wire wool and cleaning pad.
3. When the stone is good, it should be immediately stopped when it emits glass light.
4. It is best to use neutral crystal face agent and neutral refurbishment slurry.
Daily maintenance and crystal hardening treatment of stone: This is the best maintenance method, and should be used as much as possible as conditions permit.
Tools and materials: stone care machine (floor brushing machine), red cleaning pad, watering can, dust push, crystal maintenance agent, crystal hard powder.
