Precautions For Using Natural Stone

Feb 24, 2026

Natural stone is generally classified into three categories: marble, granite, and slate.

SC1

Marble is a metamorphic rock derived from limestone, featuring vibrant colors and a radiant luster, often displaying various cloud-like patterns. However, its drawback is that prolonged exposure to sunlight and rain can dull its shine, making it suitable only for indoor decoration.

Granite is formed by volcanic eruptions and belongs to igneous rocks. It has a coarse-grained structure and can maintain its luster for a long time when used outdoors. Most high-end buildings are decorated with granite on their exterior walls.

Slate belongs to sedimentary rocks and does not require special processing after mining from the mountains, so it is cheap and can be used as roof tiles, floors, and walls, but generally only for decoration and not for large-scale use.
Choosing stone can be approached from the following aspects:

1.Marble or granite should be selected according to the intended use. For example, the outdoor floor can only be made of granite, while the living room floor is better made of marble because of its bright patterns, rich colors, and easy matching with furniture of various colors.

      2. Choose the type of stone based on the color of furniture and fabric, as each type of marble or granite has its unique pattern and color.

3.After stone decoration, it is necessary to use specialized protective agents to truly present its essence and last as new.
