Surface -Treatment Process Of Marble

Aug 01, 2025

The following are common surface treatment processes for marble:

      1. Polishing surface

Polishing surface refers to the process of grinding and polishing to achieve high glossiness, even close to mirror effect, on the surface of marble. This processing method can perfectly present the natural texture of marble and is suitable for design styles such as light luxury, modern, mixed, European, and new Chinese. Polished marble can further enhance its glossiness through crystal surface treatment, reaching over 90 degrees.

       2. Antique style noodles

Antique style surface is a treatment of marble surface to create an antique effect, presenting a rough texture and a low-key antique texture. This processing method is suitable for traditional Chinese, Nordic, American, Mediterranean and other design styles.

       3. Groove surface (brushed surface)

The groove surface is a groove with a certain depth and width on the surface of marble, usually with a depth of 5mm and a width between 5-20mm. This processing method can be a straight groove or a curved groove, mainly used for shower floor, to provide anti slip effect while maintaining aesthetics.

      4. Natural surface

The natural surface is uneven and rough, restoring the original appearance of the stone. This processing method is mainly used for background walls to create a rough and atmospheric artistic effect. When using natural stone, attention should be paid to the installation process, as its weight is relatively heavy and the specifications need to be controlled within a certain range, while considering the load-bearing capacity of the wall.

      5. Sour facial cleanser

Acid face wash is a process of corroding the surface of marble using chemicals such as hydrochloric acid and alcohol, resulting in small corrosion marks on the surface. Sour facial cleanser has fewer scratches and a more rustic appearance compared to polished surfaces, suitable for marble and limestone

      6. Chop axe face

Chopping axe surface is a rough surface formed by manually or mechanically striking the surface of marble to create a striped pattern. This processing method is suitable for areas that require anti slip, such as stairs and corridors.

      7. Burnt noodles

Burnt surface is a high-temperature flame generated by using acetylene, oxygen, or other fuels to burn the surface of marble, causing it to burst and form a textured surface. This treatment method is commonly used for indoor flooring and commercial building finishes.

      8. Sandblasting surface

Sandblasting surface is formed by the impact of high-pressure sand and water flow on the surface of marble, resulting in a uniform rough surface. This treatment method is suitable for areas that require anti slip, such as outdoor platforms and around swimming pools.

      9. Litchi noodles

Litchi noodles are processed by pneumatic carving machines, presenting a textured surface resembling lychee peel. This treatment method is suitable for areas that require anti slip, such as bathrooms and kitchens.

      10. Hammer impact surface

The hammering surface is formed by hammering the marble surface with a firing machine to create a point or strip like texture. This processing method is suitable for areas with strong decorative elements, such as background walls and decorative columns.

The surface treatment process of marble not only affects its aesthetics, but also relates to its functionality, such as slip resistance and wear resistance. Choosing the appropriate processing technology can enhance the decorative effect and practicality of marble according to specific application scenarios and design styles.
