Yesterday, the new Singapore-Malaysia shipping route NS5 completed its maiden voyage at Haitian Terminal, with the vessel "Dachun" fully loaded and departing for core ports in Singapore and Malaysia. The opening of this direct maritime route from Xiamen Port to the Singapore-Malaysia region marks another expansion of Xiamen Port's international shipping network, injecting new momentum into regional foreign trade development. In the future, it will provide more frequent and efficient logistics channels for import and export enterprises in the hinterland surrounding Xiamen Port.
The NS5 route is jointly operated by Wan Hai Lines and Yun Da Shipping, connecting regional hub ports such as Singapore and Port Klang in Malaysia. Four vessels, each capable of carrying approximately 2,200 standard containers, have been deployed to establish a stable direct channel from Xiamen Port to the Singapore-Malaysia region. Upon regular operation, the route is expected to add about 700 standard containers per voyage to Xiamen Port's throughput.
It is reported that the supply structure of NS5 route is mainly composed of building materials and light industrial products, taking into account consumer goods and agricultural products. While effectively serving the production and consumption needs of Singapore and Malaysia, it provides more reliable logistics support for Xiamen and surrounding hinterland enterprises to expand into the Southeast Asian market, further improving the regional route network, and strengthening Xiamen Port's comprehensive distribution function as an important hub port on the southeast coast.
To ensure the smooth completion of the first voyage operation, Haitian Terminal precisely organizes production operations, strictly implements operating procedures, and efficiently connects and orderly promotes each link from cargo collection and customs clearance to ship berthing and loading and unloading operations. Ships are controlled within the expected range when stopping at the port, achieving accurate departure.
