Recently, Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport officially launched a hands-free service for cross-airline transfer luggage, which will break the barrier of transfer luggage being unable to "stop to the end" and allow passengers to "no trouble" to check their baggage.
Previously, passengers often faced the cumbersome process of rechecking their baggage when switching flights from different airlines in Xiamen. This time, Xiamen Airport joined hands with 25 airlines and 50 airports to jointly create a "cross-airline" luggage direct-hanging and transit service covering all domestic routes in Terminal T4.
At present, the first phase of "Changxiafei" starts cooperation has covered a total of 50 departure airports in North China, East China, Central China, South China, Southwest China, Northwest China, Northeast China, including Tianjin, Jinan, Changsha, Guilin, Chongqing, Urumqi, Dalian, etc. The first phase of the cooperation includes 25 mainstream airlines including China Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, Hainan Airlines and other 25 major airlines. Passengers who depart from the cooperative airport and transit through Xiamen can enjoy the transfer experience of "one check-in, direct luggage hang, one security check, and worry-free throughout the journey".
After passengers without checked baggage obtain the boarding pass for two flights at the departure station, they only need to go to the transfer counter to stamp the transfer stamp when arriving in Xiamen, and can directly enter the waiting area without leaving the isolation area throughout the journey, and there is no need to check again. For passengers who have checked baggage but have not directly hanged their baggage, they can go through the "one-stop" follow-up flight check-in and luggage check-in procedures at the transit counter at the corridor at the T4 terminal. There is no need to leave the isolation area to collect their luggage throughout the whole process, nor does it require a secondary security check.
It is reported that this innovative service is an important measure for Xiamen Airport to build the "world's best service experience airport" and the "most competitive international aviation hub". By simplifying the transshipment process across airlines and eliminating the trouble of passengers' secondary luggage collection, Xiamen Airport has achieved breakthroughs in the domestic airport transfer business field.
